Interactive Session on Immune-Boosting Diet for People Living with HIV

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Red Ribbon Club of GRT College of Nursing organized an online interactive session on “Immune-Boosting Diet for People Living with HIV”on 4 July 2026 . The programme was attended by II and III Year B.Sc. Nursing students.

The resource person, Dr. D. Esther Lydia, Ph.D. (Food Chemistry and Food Process), Assistant Professor, Loyola College, Chennai, delivered an informative lecture on the importance of nutrition in strengthening immunity among people living with HIV. She highlighted the health benefits of immune-boosting foods such as ginger, garlic, turmeric, guava, and cinnamon in enhancing the body’s defense against infections.

The session concluded with an interactive quiz and discussion, where students actively participated and clarified their doubts. The programme enhanced students’ understanding of the vital role of nutrition in HIV care and promoted awareness of healthy dietary practices for improving immunity and overall well-being.
