Pongal Celebration

The SNA Unit of GRT College of Nursing organized the Pongal Celebration 2025 on 10 January 2025 with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor. The programme commenced with Surya Vanakkam, a traditional invocation to the Sun God, followed by a Vannakolam Competition in which parents enthusiastically participated by creating beautiful and intricate kolam designs. The cultural programme began with a prayer song and a welcome address, after which students showcased their talents through traditional performances such as Thiruppavai, Karagattam, Oyyilattam, Silambattam, Poikkal Kuthirai, Puliyattam, Mayilattam, Thappattam, and a vibrant folk dance presented by the Nursing and ANM students, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Kutty Padmini, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of education, career opportunities, professional values, and the habit of saving for a secure future. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, encouraging active student participation. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Vannakolam Competition and the felicitation of former SNA and YRC office bearers for their valuable contributions. The event was a grand success, promoting cultural awareness, community participation, and unity among students, parents, faculty, and guests.
