State Level Workshop On Postpartum Haemorrhage (PPH)

The State Level Workshop commenced at 8:00 AM with participant registration, distribution of workshop kits, and a pre-test conducted via Google Form to assess baseline knowledge on PPH.

The academic sessions began at 8:30 AM with an inaugural address by Prof. Chitra A.I, Vice Principal, GRT College of Nursing, on Proactive Surveillance for Early Detection and Risk Stratification of PPH. This was followed by a session from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM by Dr. Vasantha S, Dean cum Principal, Bharath College of Nursing, on Active Management of Third Stage of Labour (AMTSL) emphasizing evidence-based preventive practices.

The formal Inauguration Ceremony was held at 10:30 AM, with a keynote address by Dr. Padmavathi R, Principal, GRT College of Nursing, highlighting the preventable nature of maternal deaths due to PPH.

Subsequent sessions included Dr. I. Safreena, Principal Mohamed Sathak A.J. College of Nursing (11:00 AM–12:00 PM) on Rapid Response Care in PPH Management, and Mrs. Nirmala M, Professor GRT College of nursing (12:00 PM–1:00 PM) on Nursing Leadership for Maternal Survival and Zero Preventable Deaths.

After a lunch break (1:00 PM–1:30 PM), participants engaged in hands-on skill training sessions from 1:30 PM to 4:20 PM. Four skill stations were conducted on Proactive Surveillance, AMTSL, Rapid Response Care, and Nursing Leadership, facilitated by the Clinical Instructors of GRT College of Nursing.

The workshop concluded with enhanced clinical understanding and practical competency in managing Postpartum Haemorrhage.
