A special educational session on “How to Overcome Exam Fear and Develop Effective Study Habits” was conducted for B.Sc. The session was organized with the objective of helping students understand the causes of examination anxiety and equipping them with practical strategies to improve their study habits and academic performance. Dr. Angel Shalini W explained that exam fear is a common challenge faced by many students and may arise due to inadequate preparation, fear of failure, high expectations, and lack of confidence. She emphasized that proper planning, a positive attitude, and consistent effort can significantly reduce examination stress.
During the session, the resource person highlighted various methods to overcome exam fear, including early preparation, effective time management, positive thinking, relaxation techniques, adequate sleep, healthy lifestyle practices, and seeking support from teachers and family members when needed. She encouraged students to remain confident in their abilities and to focus on their strengths rather than their fears. Dr. Angel Shalini W also shared valuable tips on developing effective study habits, such as creating a realistic study schedule, setting achievable goals, studying in a distraction-free environment, revising regularly, practicing previous years’ question papers, and using active learning methods like note-making and self-assessment. She stressed the importance of maintaining concentration through short breaks and adopting healthy routines to improve memory and learning outcomes.
