Zero Tolerance For Female Genital Mutilation Day

The Youth Red Cross of GRT College of Nursing organized an awareness programme to commemorate Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation Day 2026 on 06.02.2026 for IV year B.Sc.(N) students. The programme began with an introduction by Ms. Premila, Associate Professor, highlighting the theme and origin of the day. Ms. Aleena, IV year student, presented on the concept, incidence, health risks, human rights concerns, and eradication of FGM. A poster presentation followed, with nine participants. Professor Uma Maheshwari evaluated the entries. Prizes were awarded to Ms. Priyanka Kumari (first), Ms. Jismariya (second), and Ms. Anjana (third), strengthening awareness and advocacy among students.
