Cardiac Screening Camp

GRT College of Nursing organized a Cardiac Camp on 6th June 2026 at the GRT Nursing campus. The camp was conducted with the active participation of specialists from Madras Medical Mission (MMM), Chennai, and Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre. A range of comprehensive health services were offered, including Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing, Blood Pressure (BP) check, ECG, ECHO, Treadmill Test (TMT), foot examination, Doppler study, and expert cardiac consultation. The program was primarily organized for the benefit of the teaching and non-teaching faculty members of GRT IET, GRT COE, GRT IPER, GRT CON, and GRT Mahalakshmi Vidhyalaya School, ensuring easy access to quality healthcare within the campus. A total of around 152 staff members were benefitted through this initiative.

The camp significantly contributed to the early detection and prevention of cardiovascular and lifestyle-related diseases among faculty. It also created awareness on the importance of regular health screening, balanced diet, physical activity, and stress management. Expert consultations provided personalized guidance, enabling participants to understand their health status and adopt preventive measures. The initiative reduced the need for external hospital visits and encouraged timely medical attention. Overall, the cardiac camp strengthened institutional commitment towards staff welfare, promoted preventive healthcare practices, and enhanced the overall well-being and productivity of the faculty community.
