National Conference on Organizational Behaviour in Healthcare

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GRT College & School of Nursing, Tiruttani, organized a National Conference on Organizational Behaviour in Healthcare on 10 April 2023. The conference was attended by 258 B.Sc. Nursing students, 72 M.Sc. Nursing students, and faculty members from various nursing and allied health institutions.

The conference commenced with a pre-test followed by six expert sessions. Dr. Nalini, Principal, Faculty of Nursing, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, delivered a session on “Overview on Organizational Behavior”, moderated by Dr. Angel Shalini W., CNE Coordinator, GRT College of Nursing. Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi, Principal, Vignesh Nursing College, Tiruvannamalai, presented on Leadership Behavior and Organizational Commitment”, moderated by Prof. Sivagami P., Department of Community Health Nursing, GRT College of Nursing.

The inaugural function was graced by Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi, who highlighted the significance of organizational behaviour in healthcare. The conference also featured sessions by Dr. Sailaxmi, Professor and Head, Department of Nursing, NIMHANS, on Workplace Deviant Behaviors and its Organizational Determinants”, moderated by Dr. Padmavathi R., Principal, GRT College of Nursing; and Dr. Sharadha Ramesh, Principal, Vinayaka Mission College of Nursing, Puducherry, on How to Create a Motivating Organizational Culture and Climate”, moderated by Dr. Rajathi Sakthivel, Vice Principal, Hindu Mission College of Nursing, Chennai.

The afternoon sessions included Dr. Padmavathi R., Principal, GRT College of Nursing, speaking on Problem Employees – Dealing and Managing”, moderated by Prof. Vatchala Devi, Principal, Indira College of Nursing, Tiruvallur; and Dr. T.R. Udayakumar, CEO, Impetus Healthcare Skills Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, delivering a lecture on “The Impact of Technology on Contemporary Organizational Communication”, moderated by Prof. Chitra A.I., Vice Principal, GRT College of Nursing.

The conference also included 17 scientific paper presentations and 15 poster presentations, providing a valuable platform for research dissemination and academic exchange. The event successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of organizational behavior and its application in contemporary healthcare settings.
